ArmInfo. Narek Samsonyan, co-host of the Imnemnimi podcast, has been transferred to a hospital following a 14-day hunger strike. Lawyer Ruben Melikyan shared this information on his Facebook page.
According to Melikyan, Samsonyan ended his hunger strike upon the recommendation of doctors. His health had begun to decline significantly as early as January 18, when he reported shortness of breath and chest pains. He was examined and returned to a disciplinary cell (solitary confinement) at the penitentiary.
Recall, Samsonyan launched the indefinite hunger strike after an Armenian court extended the detention of the Imnemnimi hosts for another three months on January 9. Opposition figures Narek Samsonyan and Vazgen Saghatelyan were arrested in Yerevan on November 13, 2025. Concurrent with their arrests, law enforcement raided the AntiFake.am editorial office and seized all technical equipment, much of which has yet to be returned, hampering the outlet's operations. The bloggers were detained following a complaint filed by the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, regarding alleged "obscene language" directed at him. The investigation has officially charged them with hooliganism. It is worth noting that the podcast remarks were a direct response to an initial social media post by Simonyan.
