ArmInfo.Artsakh public figure and politician Artur Osipyan has issued a statement declaring the continuation of his struggle.
"On May 18, due to the slander and false information spread against me by the candidate for Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, N. Pashinyan, I resorted to an extreme measure—a hunger strike—to defend my dignity, as I had no other choice in prison. However, given that the prosecutor's office has changed my preventive measure, I will continue the struggle through other means. Today, I filed a lawsuit with the Civil Court of First Instance of the Republic of Armenia, demanding a public retraction of the defamatory information and forcing him to apologize," Osipyan noted, adding that the criminal case against him is still ongoing.
As a reminder, Artur Osipyan was arrested on May 18 on charges of obstructing the election campaign of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and went on a hunger strike on May 21. It was later revealed that on June 10, 2026, the supervising prosecutor—taking into account petitions from civil society representatives to the Prosecutor General and the supervising prosecutor expressing readiness to provide a personal guarantee for the accused—decided to revoke the detention order issued against Artur Osipyan.
