
ArmInfo. Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II met with a delegation from Save Armenia, led by Executive Director Dr. Paul Murray.
According to the Press Office of the Mother See of Etchmiadzin, His Holiness expressed gratitude to the delegation members for their initiatives aimed at protecting human rights, promoting religious freedom, and developing dialogue between peoples.
Karekin II noted with satisfaction the organization's efforts to raise issues concerning Armenia and the Armenian people and to properly represent them in international forums, especially during these difficult times for our country.
The Patriarch of Armenia addressed the current situation in Church-state relations, the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced Armenians of Artsakh, the release of Armenian prisoners illegally held in Azerbaijan, and the preservation of the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
Speaking about the spiritual, educational, and national preservation mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Patriarch emphasized that the Church serves to strengthen the spiritual life of Armenians, foster national unity, and affirm spiritual and moral values in public life.
Dr. Paul Murray outlined the purpose of the delegation's visit and reaffirmed the organization's readiness to support the Armenian Church and the Armenian people and to contribute in every way to overcoming the challenges facing Armenia.
Peacebuilding processes in the region were also touched upon during the conversation, emphasizing that lasting peace must be based on the principles of justice, respect for the rights of peoples, and dignified coexistence.
