ArmInfo.Alik Aleksanyan, a member of the Strong Armenia Party Council, has been arrested. The Investigative Committee's press service reported this.
The agency claims that Aleksanyan is charged with providing material incentives for citizens to participate in public gatherings and with large-scale money laundering. He was detained by police with the intention of filing a petition for pretrial detention. Law enforcement officers questioned approximately 500 people during the investigation. Investigators allege that from September 2025 to May 2026, Aleksanyan, as the head of the NGO "Po-Nashemu," employed approximately 1,400 citizens in various offices of the organization throughout Armenia, some of whom simultaneously worked for other companies.
Between October 2025 and March 2026, funds from a number of entities, including the Tashir Foundation, as well as Intego Energy and Tashir Capital, which, according to investigators, may be linked to S.K., were deposited into the organization's accounts. The total amount of funds, according to investigators, amounted to approximately 1.6 billion drams, 230,000 rubles, and $75,000. Investigators believe these funds may have been used to pay salaries and other benefits to employees, who were allegedly sent to participate in rallies and meetings organized by supporters of Samvel Karapetyan, the Ponashemu organization, and the Strong Armenia party. Investigators also believe that some employees may have subsequently been dismissed without achieving the organization's statutory goals.
