ArmInfo. The First Armenian Republic was established at the cost of a generation that valued unity above all else, driven by national will, devotion, and statesmanship, as noted in a statement issued by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) on the occasion of First Republic Day.
The party's press service recalled that the founders of the First Republic conveyed to the Armenian people the importance of national consolidation, preserving statehood, and building a country grounded in democratic values. “This generation understood that our strength lies in unity, while division would be among the greatest threats to our statehood,” the ARF noted.
Emphasizing the relevance of that message today, the party stated that as the Armenian people once again face serious challenges, the key lesson of May 28 is to remain resolute, united, and steadfast—for Armenia, for Artsakh, and for the preservation of national dignity and statehood. "Glory to the creators of May 28. Glory to the generation that bequeathed independence and free will. Let us be worthy followers of their message. Happy Republic Day of Armenia," the ARF concluded.
Recall, Armenia celebrates Republic Day on May 28. To mark the occasion, a parade was held on Republic Square, during which the country's authorities showcased newly acquired military equipment. Notably, the last large-scale military parade in Armenia took place on September 21, 2016, on Republic Square in Yerevan, following the Four-Day April War of 2016.
