ArmInfo. Mutual visits between the prime ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan are historic in nature. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing on April 30, responding to a question about the reasons for keeping Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev's visit to Armenia confidential.
According to Pashinyan, the only reason for the visit's confidentiality is security. "I think the same rules were in effect when our deputy prime minister visited Azerbaijan. And leaks to the media can never be ruled out," the Armenian prime minister remarked.
Pashinyan noted that, as a rule, the parties agree on the timing of press releases, among other things. Against this backdrop, the assertion that the authorities "kept this secret from the public" is inappropriate. "I believe the visits of deputy prime ministers contribute to the institutionalization of peace, and I am very glad that we have reached this point," the head of the Armenian government noted.
As a reminder, on April 30, the commissions for delimitation of the state border of Armenia and Azerbaijan, headed by the deputy prime ministers of the two countries, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev, held talks in Aghveran. The parties discussed the organizational and technical aspects of the delimitation work, agreed on, and exchanged draft instructions regulating the procedure. Prior to this, at the end of November 2025, the deputy prime ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev, held the 12th meeting of the bilateral commission in Gabala.
