ArmInfo.  The current Armenian government is publicly pressuring law enforcement agencies to arrest second President Robert Kocharyan. Robert Kocharyan himself stated  this on July 10 at a hearing in the Anti-Corruption Court, where  hearings on the March 1, 2008, case continue.

ArmInfo.Approximately 630 million drams, interest on deposits, real estate shares, and parking will be confiscated from the third president of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in favor of the state, as noted in a  statement issued by the press service of the Prosecutor General's  Office, emphasizing that the supervisory authority's demand was  partially satisfied.

ArmInfo.An Armenian court has overturned the decision to arrest Aleksandr Sargsyan, the brother of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

He was responding  to a question regarding why Pashinyan is seeking another term, given his  previous opposition in 2018 to the attempts of the third president,  Serzh Sargsyan, to remain in power.

Instead, what occurred was a systematic falsification of the vote—a  pre-planned criminal act, orchestrated by a centralized leadership  and facilitated by the direct intervention of the head of the regime,  aimed at usurping the will of the people. This statement was issued  by the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), led  by the third president, Serzh Sargsyan.

ArmInfo.  The statement by Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, claiming that "Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is not running for a third term because the previous elections were snap elections," could strip the opposition of its sole political justification for removing him from power.  Political commentator Karpis Pashoyan, who participated in the recent  parliamentary elections alongside Edmon Marukyan, leader of the  Bright Armenia party, wrote  on his Facebook page.

ArmInfo.This time, healthy trees, in front of the Sos Sargsyan Theater,  were cut down on Henri Verneuil Street, as reported by  Samvel Farmanyan, a former MP from the third President Serzh Sargsyan's Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), who shared a related footage on his Facebook page. 

ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office announced on August 14, 2025, that Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan overturned the January 30, 2020, decision to terminate the criminal prosecution against former Deputy Chief of Police Sasha Afyan. A public criminal  case was opened against Sasha Afyan, and the criminal trial materials, supported by the indictment, were submitted to court on  January 9, 2026, where the main hearings are currently underway.

ArmInfo.On June 1, 2026, as part of the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the events that took place in Yerevan on March 1-2, 2008, the Prosecutor General opened a public criminal case against the commanders of the 4th Army Corps of the RA Armed Forces for the period from February 23 to March 1, 2008.

The Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia drew the attention of the public, and in particular the opposition, to several problematic aspects of the three documents signed in Yerevan by RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, expressing hope that  the opposition will raise these issues in its election campaign.

ArmInfo. The leaders of the three-headed opposition – Robert Kocharyan, Samvel Karapetyan, and others – must stop their actions aimed at provoking Russia into imposing sanctions against Armenia, as stated by Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the RA National Assembly, to journalists on May 23, during the ruling Civil Contract party's campaign in the capital's Avan  district. Simonyan was commenting on the latest restrictions imposed  by the Russian side on the import of Armenian goods into the Russian  market.
