ArmInfo.  As a result of measures taken by Armenian law enforcement agencies, a citizen wanted for approximately 11 years was found and arrested in the Russian  Federation. He was extradited to the Republic of Armenia on June 18,  2026. This was reported in a statement by the RA Investigative  Committee.

From August 10th to 15th, Armenia will be affected by cold and wet cyclones from the Black Sea, resulting in a 4-6 degree drop in air temperatures on August 10th and 11th (compared to August 9th). ArmInfo. The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Russian and New Nakhichevan Dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church demanded that the Armenian authorities end the judicial prosecution of Catholicos of All  Armenians Karekin II and members of the Supreme Spiritual Council.

Armenian Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan stated this in Kyrgyzstan during a conversation with  journalists. ArmInfo. The Bureau of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) condemned the actions taken by the Armenian authorities and  reaffirmed its full support for the Armenian Apostolic Church and His  Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.  This was stated in  a statement published on the party's Facebook page in connection with  the first hearing of the criminal case against the Catholicos of All  Armenians.

ArmInfo. On August 6,  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in a narro-format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata.  During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to cooperation in  various areas within the Eurasian Economic Union.

Representatives of the opposition intend to go to Echmiadzin to express their support for Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II ahead of the court hearing, as announced by Narek Karapetyan, a member of the "Strong  Armenia" bloc, during a briefing.
