ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister's press secretary, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, has denied published information that the Armenian government intends to review and withdraw awards presented to Karabakh War veterans.
"The website Dikgazete.com has published yet another piece of disinformation, according to which the Armenian government allegedly intends to review and withdraw awards given to Karabakh War veterans. This assertion is completely false and has no relation to reality," she wrote on her Facebook page.
At the same time, she believes, it is noteworthy that this disinformation is structured with a clear logic for targeting specific groups of the population. "The social and moral condition of war participants is a highly sensitive topic for society, and the selection of such content is aimed at creating distrust in state institutions and government policies.
The chain of dissemination of the information demonstrates its systematic and organized nature: it was initially published on an unknown platform, then quickly replicated by several Turkish and Azerbaijani media outlets, actively spread on the X platform through suspicious and interconnected user accounts, and also disseminated through Telegram channels of Russian-origin," the press secretary noted.
She pointed out the fact that this disinformation is being widely circulated in the Armenian information space by certain opposition circles and the media outlets serving them.
"This indicates that information threats against the Republic of Armenia, in some cases, coincide and are further amplified by certain political figures operating within the country. The above bears clear signs of foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI), so please refrain from spreading unverified information and do not contribute to the reproduction of disinformation," Nazeli Baghdasaryan concluded.
