ArmInfo. The Artsakh Public Council calls on the people of Artsakh to unite and appeals to Mother Armenia and the Diaspora for solidarity.
The statement emphasizes that the new composition of the Artsakh Public Council was formed under unusual circumstances, at a time of obvious internal and external challenges. However, it was established in the interests of the unity of the people forcibly displaced from Artsakh and the importance of raising various issues, as well as in support of the activities of state structures in exile. "In the current political, moral, and psychological climate, where our rights and identity are at stake, where the oblivion of values is imposed, and propaganda aimed at erasing historical memory is relentlessly intensified, resistance naturally becomes inevitable. Based on this starting point, the Artsakh Public Council calls on the Armenians of Artsakh to unite and appeals to Mother Armenia and the Diaspora for solidarity," the statement emphasizes.
At the same time, it is noted that after the Artsakh issue has been lowered to the level of irreversible borders and the loss of the homeland, shifting attention to the level of national and moral standards is fraught with irreversible consequences. "With a humiliated past and a frightening present, hopes for the future are futile. The discussion about the rights of the people of Artsakh is by no means conflictual; it is enshrined in international principles and norms. History and common sense suggest that success can only be achieved through loyalty and courage. The Artsakh Public Council is well aware of the price of peace. The citizens of Artsakh, who have lived through the storms and nightmares of war, cannot fail to understand the context of current events. However, they cannot be a source of internal discord through their very existence. No matter how much the Karabakh movement is rejected, and no matter how the Declaration of Independence, the founding document of the state, contradicts current realities, the people of Artsakh are still in the 'consciousness of the world,' with their history, problems, rights, and demands still remembered," the statement continues. The Artsakh Public Council adds that in the absence of a full- fledged dialogue with the Armenian government, public solidarity is becoming a priority, opening the door to dialogue for all respected individuals who are concerned about Artsakh and its people, with the hope and belief that together the Armenian people can build a dignified future.
