RPA vice-chair presents arguments for Armenian premier being traitor

ArmInfo. Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Armen Ashotyan listed approximately two dozen arguments that occurred during Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's tenure, demonstrating that he is a traitor to the homeland.

Ashotyan emphasized that only a traitor, having become a symbol of  defeat and its cause, could continue to strive to retain power by  resorting to provocations that, instead of uniting Armenian society,  only increased polarization and a sense of injustice. "Only a traitor  could put his own narrow personal interests above geopolitical ones  and lead the country to senseless snap elections (June 20, 2021 -  ed.), making promises he knew from the start he couldn't fulfill. In  particular, on the Artsakh issue: the right to self-determination,  de-occupation, and so on," the RPA deputy chairman wrote on his  Facebook page.

According to Ashotyan, only a traitor could, through his political  existence and actions after the 2021 elections, "untie the hands" of  Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"Furthermore, only a traitor could fail to raise the issue of the  legal consequences of the Azerbaijani- Turkish aggression in the  44-day war in any international forum and fail to make any efforts to  'pressure' Azerbaijan and Turkey. This includes burying in oblivion  the fact, documented by international structures, of Turkey's  recruitment of militants from the Middle East," the RPA deputy  chairman noted. As Ashotyan continued, only a traitor could forgive  Azerbaijan's war crimes and take no practical steps to implement  international punitive mechanisms, while simultaneously facilitating  Azerbaijani policies, for example, by excluding Nagorno-Karabakh from  official documents. Furthermore, the politician added, only a traitor  could replace the "right of the people of Artsakh to  self-determination" with the term "rights and security of the  Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh" and leave responsibility for  the security and future of the people of Artsakh in the hands of  others, particularly Russia.

"Only a traitor could periodically slap the people of Artsakh and  tolerate Turkish propaganda about '140,000 versus 3 million,' while  Armenia was turning into an arena for clashes between world powers.  And only a traitor could attempt to freeze the situation amid these  geopolitical tensions by engaging in separate negotiations instead of  waiting for a final decision on the fate of the OSCE Minsk Group  Co-Chairs. And at the same time, pay less attention to the defeated  army after the defeat on November 9 than to the police, whose awards  and material support the servicemen could only dream of," Ashotyan  noted.

As another sign of betrayal, the RPA deputy chairman cited the  agreement after November 9, 2020, when representatives of the ruling  Civil Contract party confirmed that delimitation and demarcation  using GPS was normal, while at the same time finding it so easy to  give up and abandon the Goris-Kapan road. "Only a traitor could  tolerate, encourage, and participate in numerous corrupt practices  along with other members of his team after the war. Instead of  creating an atmosphere of social solidarity, he, through his  provocative political considerations, further divided society through  abuses of the law enforcement system and continually undermined the  pillars of national identity: the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC),  the family, morality, and so on," the politician emphasized.

According to him, the following incidents were also treacherous: the  cession of 200 square kilometers in Sanasar and Kovsakan, not  envisaged in the November 9 statement; the handover to Azerbaijan of  Azerbaijani criminals who committed murders before the return of the  last Armenian prisoner of war; the consignment to oblivion of the  issue of Armenian prisoners of war; the lack of minimum conditions  for the army on the Armenian-Azerbaijani line of contact; the  rejection of the fundamental principles of the OSCE Minsk Group and  the introduction of the "unprocessed" Almaty Declaration of 1991; and  the lack of response to both Aliyev's personal insults and political  antics.

"As you can see, there's more than enough evidence and testimony that  Pashinyan is a traitor, both before and during the 44-day war, and  especially immediately after. Well, I won't even remind you of his  treacherous decisions and behavior as Armenian Prime Minister in  2023-2026. Perhaps you still remember," Ashotyan concluded.
