ArmInfo. In 6-7 years, not a single kindergarten in Yerevan will remain unrenovated. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced this during the opening ceremony of the 45th renovated preschool.
This project was implemented with co-financing from the Yerevan Municipality, in cooperation with the European Investment Bank and the Energy Efficiency and Environment Facility for Eastern Europe, and with technical support from the UN Development Programme.
He noted that energy efficiency measures have been implemented in all 45 preschool buildings.
Specifically, solar panels, water heaters, boilers, and energy-saving lighting have been installed. Major renovations of 13 more kindergartens are planned to begin in 2026.
"The goal of the program is to reduce energy consumption in preschools under the jurisdiction of the Yerevan Municipality. The implementation of these projects is aimed at creating a new and safe environment for Yerevan's children," the city municipality said in a statement.
