Upper Lars checkpoint closed to all vehicles

ArmInfo.The Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian road, which provides Armenia's land connection with the Russian Federation, has closed again to all vehicles. This was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, citing data from the Department of  Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the North Ossetia Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency  Situations of the Russian Federation.

According to the source, there are also closed roads in Armenia.  Specifically, the roads leading from the Amberd high-mountain  meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd  Fortress and Lake Kari are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to  vehicles with trailers.

Icy conditions are observed in some areas on roads in the Shirak and  Gegharkunik regions. Drivers are strongly advised to use only winter  tires.
