ArmInfo. Since 1999, 433 specialists from public administration, information technology, education, healthcare, and other sectors have completed retraining in Armenia under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. This was announced at an event dedicated to the ITEC program, according to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
Specifically, 39 specialists participated in the program from 2025 to 2026, and 38 in 2024-2025.
Through the ITEC program, the Republic of India provides thousands of specialists from around the world with the opportunity to participate in training courses and receive scholarships for professional development. This initiative not only provides participants with the opportunity to develop professional skills but also to experience India's rich culture, history, and hospitality.
During the event, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Artur Martirosyan noted that Armenia highly values its friendly and mutually beneficial relations with India. "The ITEC program is one of the important areas of cooperation and, over the years, has become an effective platform for developing professional skills," he noted.
The Deputy Minister found it remarkable that even during the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program continued to fulfill its important mission, providing thousands of specialists with online courses through digital platforms. "I am confident that ITEC graduates contribute to the development of various industries, while simultaneously serving as a reliable bridge between Armenia and India and strengthening the centuries-old friendship between our peoples," Martirosyan said.
The event was attended by Indian Ambassador to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha. The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program was developed in 1964. It provides specialists from different countries with the opportunity to improve their qualifications, participate in courses and internships, and also introduces them to the culture and traditions of India, strengthening bilateral ties.
