


ArmInfo. World War II veteran Petros Artashesovich Petrosyan, one of the glorious sons of the Armenian people, a man of legendary destiny, has passed away at the age of 102.
The press service of Rossotrudnichestvo in Armenia reported this. "His life is an integral part of the heroic history of an entire nation, which we are obliged to remember and pass on to future generations. We express our sincere condolences to his family and friends. Blessed memory," the statement read. Petros Petrosyan was born on December 19, 1923, in Armenia.
In 1941, immediately after graduating from school, he volunteered for the Red Army. From 1942 onward, he fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, demonstrating courage and exceptional fortitude. As commander of an artillery battalion battery, he made a significant contribution to the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Czechoslovakia. He was wounded three times in battle, but each time returned to duty, reaching Berlin. For his outstanding service to his homeland, Petros Artashesovich was awarded over 100 awards, including the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, the Medal for Military Merit, the Medal for Active Actions in Intelligence, and others.
In 2014, his book "Pages from the Life of an Intelligence Officer" was published. Even after retirement, he continued his active public life and headed the Union of Armenian Veterans until his 90s.
