Our Way movement opens offices in Yerevan`s Shengavit district

ArmInfo.  The opposition movement "Our Way," led by Tashir Group President Samvel Karapetyan, opened three regional branches in the Shengavit district of Yerevan.

According to the movement's press service, during the branch opening  ceremony, movement coordinator Narek Karapetyan emphasized that eight  years ago, the country's leader was a man who made many promises but  fulfilled none of them. "Our neighboring countries halved poverty in  eight years. Five years later, he makes another promise: this time,  he says there will be peace.  Has he promised anything and kept it?  No," noted Narek Karapetyan.

According to him, the current authorities are increasing the debt  burden on every family year after year.

"In just one year, he secured a $1.7 billion loan. So you understand  what that means." These $1.7 billion are loans taken out in the first  16 years of Armenia's independence. The former authorities, in 16  years, didn't take out as many loans as the current leader has in  just one year. We need someone who isn't accustomed to being  deceived. They were given two chances. I don't think our people  should give this person a third chance. "With the $1.7 billion they  borrowed, 80,000 new jobs could have been created in Armenia,"  concluded Narek Karapetyan.

It's worth noting that at the end of January, the "Our Way"  movement's program was presented in Yerevan. It includes five key  areas: the creation of 300,000 new jobs, especially in the regions;  zero-tax rates for small businesses; a 20% reduction in medicine  prices for everyone; guaranteed purchase of harvests in villages; and  20,000 affordable apartments with state support. "I guarantee their  implementation," the businessman noted. As a reminder, on December  30, the court changed businessman Karapetyan's pretrial detention to  house arrest. The businessman was detained on June 18 by law  enforcement officers, and the court later remanded him in custody on  charges of calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order due  to his support for the Armenian Apostolic Church. The businessman was  later charged with money laundering. It's worth noting that  Karapetyan's arrest The incident was preceded by threatening posts  from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan directed at him, which lawyers  view as an attempt to directly interfere with the investigation and  law enforcement. Following Karapetyan's arrest, the authorities  effectively took over the management of the Eclectic Networks of  Armenia company from the Karapetyan family, appointing Romanos  Petrosyan, a member of the Civil Contract party, as its manager.
