ArmInfo. For the first time in the history of Armenian performing arts, the work of Austro-German violinist and music educator Carl Flesch, "The Art of Violin Playing," has been translated into Armenian.
This fundamental textbook for violin training offers a rigorous, systematic approach to developing violin technique-from sound production to finger and bow flexibility and psychological preparedness.
First published in 1923, it remains a mandatory text for violin education and is widely used in music schools worldwide. By decision of the project sponsors, the Armenian translation of "The Art of Violin Playing" will be provided free of charge to conservatories, music colleges, and schools in Armenia. The Armenian edition was published under a licensing agreement with the Berlin-based publishing house Ries & Erler. The project was implemented by the Primavera Foundation of Armenia in collaboration with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra.
To mark the publication, a special concert titled "The Art of Violin Playing" will take place on December 24 at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The evening will feature violinists Maximilian Simon and Aram Badalyan, the editor of the new German edition and the translator of the Armenian edition. Under the baton of Eduard Topchjan, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra program will accompany the soloists in a program featuring the violin concertos by Erich Korngold and Max Bruch, as well as the overture to Glinka's opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila."
