Armenia, as COP-17 chairing state, calls on all countries to submit  their national reports by February 2026 - minister 

ArmInfo.  On December 11, RA Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan met with Deborah Barasa, Minister of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry of the  Republic of Kenya. This was reported by the press service of the  Armenian ministry.

According to the source, during the meeting, the parties discussed  opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in environmental  protection, climate change, and forestry. The parties emphasized the  importance of exchanging experiences, implementing sustainable  development programs, and deepening international cooperation to  effectively address global environmental challenges. Matevosyan noted  that Armenia is ready to deepen cooperation in various areas based on  mutual interests.

COP-17 issues were also discussed during the meeting. The Minister  emphasized that Armenia is ready to work closely with partner  countries to effectively organize the conference and looks forward to  the participation of a high-level delegation from Kenya. COP-17 will  be a key milestone in the implementation of the Montreal Global  Biodiversity Framework. In this context, Armenia, as the Chair of  COP17, calls on all countries to submit their national reports by  February 2026 to ensure a comprehensive and representative global  assessment. The Minister of Environment of the Republic of Armenia  expressed confidence that Kenya, as an active participant in the  field of climate and biodiversity and host of the UN Environment  Programme Secretariat, will actively support the preparatory work for  COP17, contributing to the success of the conference.
