Frauds involving hundreds of thousands of kWh uncovered at ENA:  Interim Manager reports systemic violations

ArmInfo.Targeted inspections and audits at various ENA branches have revealed violations and fraud involving tens of thousands of kWh in  electricity metering.

Romanos Petrosyan, Interim Manager of  Electric Networks of Armenia  (ENA) CJSC,  shared this information  on his Facebook page.

He informed that the violations involved additional charges for  electricity consumption at the expense of individual consumers,  budgetary institutions, and business entities, etc.

Furthermore, as the Interim Manager noted, there was underreporting  of electricity returned to the distribution network by autonomous  producers (solar power plants). There was also artificial  underreporting of actual technical losses in the distribution network  and the documentation of distorted data, etc. "However, in recent  days, we have witnessed an obvious violation, which at first glance  may seem absurd, but which, in my opinion, could be indicative of   systemic fraud in other branches of ENA," he wrote.

According to Petrosyan, one of ENA's regional networks was found to  have overcharged meters designed to record electricity for the  network's own needs (for control purposes. The responsible employees  noted that this was done under the direct orders of the immediate  supervisor.

"Now imagine the scale of the fraud they used to rob the people of  Armenia, not forgetting to pose as "benefactors" who supposedly  "don't care about ENA", while in international court they presented  themselves as investors from Cyprus to regain the right to rob us,"  the acting head of ENA noted.
