ArmInfo.Water release from Lake Sevan will be increased from 170 million m3 to 200 million m3. This decision was made during an extraordinary session of the eighth extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly of Armenia.
David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, presented the draft law. He noted that this decision was made in connection with the previously implemented release of water from Sevan to replenish the Marmarik, Hrazdan, Kasakh and Azat rivers, which had become shallow due to high temperatures and drought. "Later, an additional 30 million cubic meters were also withdrawn for irrigation purposes," Khudatyan added. The draft was passed in the first reading: 55 deputies voted for, 0 voted against, and 5 abstained.
