Pashinyan, Doughty reaffirm their readiness to elevate  Armenian-British relations to the level of strategic partnership

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America and  Overseas Territories. 

As reported by the PM's office, the Prime Minister welcomed Doughty's  visit to Armenia and expressed satisfaction with the successful phase  of the Armenia-UK strategic dialogue. Nikol Pashinyan noted that  Stephen Doughty's visit to the region is taking place at a very  important and even historic moment, given the agreements reached in  Washington, which lay the foundation for stability and  predictability, broader regional cooperation and development in the  South Caucasus.

Stephen Doughty, in turn, congratulated the Prime Minister on the  historic results achieved in Washington toward normalizing relations  between Armenia and Azerbaijan and advancing the peace agenda,  emphasizing the United Kingdom's support for this process.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to elevate the  Armenian-British relations to the level of strategic partnership. The  interlocutors emphasized that cooperation between Armenia and the  United Kingdom is based on common values: democracy, the rule of law  and the protection of fundamental human rights. The discussion  covered several issues related to the further development and  expansion of Armenian-British cooperation.

The importance of conducting research on economic projects of mutual  interest, implementing joint investment programs and more active  participation of British companies in infrastructure and other  projects in Armenia was emphasized. Prime Minister Pashinyan stressed  the importance of the UK's active participation in the European  Political Community Summit and the 17th Conference of the Parties to  the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17) to be held in Armenia  next year. Also, views were exchanged on other issues of mutual  interest.
