


ArmInfo. Major General Artak Tonoyan has submitted a resignation letter to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan. This information was confirmed to ArmInfo by press secretary of the Armenian Defense Ministry Aram Torosyan.
"I confirm that Major General Artak Tonoyan has been dismissed to the reserve of the Armed Forces of Armenia according to his application, due to his transition to retirement after many years of service," Torosyan noted.
Earlier it became known that three citizens in Armenia were arrested for a period of two months on suspicion of committing hooliganism and murder with the use of a firearm on August 14 under a bridge near the house of a criminal authority nicknamed "Fat Rustam" in the settlement of Proshyan in the Kotayk region of Armenia. The media wrote that one of the detainees is Artashes Tonoyan, a resident of the Kotayk region, whose father is a general by rank and an adviser to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan.
