ArmInfo. The Armenian MFA, in response to a request from Sputnik Armenia, confirmed that the honorary consul in Yekaterinburg, Narek Spartakyan, has been relieved of his position.
Earlier, the URA.RU publication reported that the honorary consul of Armenia Narek Spartakyan was being recalled from Yekaterinburg. According to the website, the reason for his recall was his disagreement with the country's leadership stance regarding the Armenian Apostolic Church and the arrest of the philanthropist from Russia Samvel Karapetyan, who supported the AAC. "Narek Spartakyan has been released from his duties as honorary consul in Yekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk region)," the Armenian MFA said. The department did not provide any other details, and did not answer whether this was connected with Spartakyan's stance on the situation surrounding the Armenian Apostolic Church and businessman Samvel Karapetyan.
