ArmInfo. The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, believes that the recent statements by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry do not indicate the  failure of the peace treaty. On March 17, during a conversation with  journalists in the National Assembly, when asked whether the purpose  of spreading Azerbaijani disinformation about the shootings on the  border is an attempt to delay the process of signing the peace  treaty, Simonyan noted: <<In my opinion this is being done to justify  the statement of the President of Azerbaijan, who claimed that trust  in the Armenian side is close to zero. I find this surprising,  especially considering that the publication that our, so to speak,  work and style of work are agreed upon in the same treaty says the  opposite. Not to mention that our opposition colleagues and opponents  accuse us of the opposite, they say: you, in general, do everything  that the President of Azerbaijan says. Now it turns out that the  President of Azerbaijan is refuting our opposition, making such  accusations against us>.

The Speaker of the Parliament emphasized that European observers, in  addition to the Ministry of Defense, also stated that no shots were  fired from the Armenian side.When asked if  Baku is possibly   preparing the ground for another escalation or seeking new  concessions from Yerevan  with its latest statements,, Simonyan  admitted that <this is Azerbaijan's constant style - <the Armenians  are shooting>, and they are allegedly forced to respond>.

<At this stage, however, I do not think that Azerbaijan will  escalate. We have only announced the approval of a peace treaty and  the assessment of the EU observers is obvious. The world does not  base its opinion on Azerbaijani Telegram channels. They have their  own sources, and the Azerbaijani side must take this into account>,  he said. According to him, there are solutions in the agreement for  any <concerns> that Azerbaijan is raising. <If this is not  sufficient, we are once again prepared to discuss and determine  whether there is  a concept of territorial claims in the Armenian  Constitution or not,> Simonyan said.
