ArmInfo.The current government of Armenia keeps secret from its own people how many square kilometers of territory have been transferred to Azerbaijan. This was stated by deputy of the Hayastan faction Artur Khachatryan on July 12 in the National Assembly.
The day before, at an extraordinary meeting of parliament, addressing the head of the Cadastre Committee Suren Tovmasyan, the deputy asked how many kilometers of territory were transferred to Azerbaijan in Tavush and after the withdrawal of troops from the village of Shurnukh in Syunik <due to a cadastral error>. The head of the Cadastre retorted, pointing out that "the territories were not surrendered to the Turks." <When strengthening the state border, it became known that state registration of rights (to property) was carried out on the basis of incomplete legal documents - these are decisions of the head of the community and cadastral maps. The decisions of the head of the community will be assessed by law enforcement," he concluded.
NA Speaker Alen Simonyan hastily answered for Tovlasyan, pointing out that "for the thousandth time I am forced to repeat: Not a centimeter of the ancestral territory of Armenia was surrendered to anyone." "As for the territories mentioned by Khachatryan, a house, a kiosk, a small barn, and perhaps one more unfinished building were transferred there (to Azerbaijan)," Simonyan assured. The main thing, the NA speaker emphasized, is that there is hope for establishing peace with Azerbaijan.
"If it weren't a secret (the area of the territories), then today they (the authorities) would stand up and say how much was handed over," Arthur Khachatryan decisively stated today.
The opposition and, in particular, the Tavush for the Motherland movement accuse the RA authorities of unilateral concessions and the surrender of strategically important territories of the country. Thus, according to the protocol-description of the commission on delimitation and demarcation of borders, in the area of the village of Kirants, Tavush region of the Republic of Armenia, two houses, a bridge, a section of the interstate road to Georgia and about 50 land plots go to Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, as legal scholars stated, the villagers have cadastral certificates, which means that these territories belong to the Republic of Armenia.
On May 20, the RA Ministry of Justice stated that cadastral certificates for real estate were issued to residents of the Tavush village of Kirants in the past by mistake.
