Opposition movement`s agenda remained unchanged - NA speaker 

ArmInfo.When the opposition raises the question of the failure of the Armenian authorities to  fulfill certain provisions of election promises, the question arises of the opposition itself fulfilling the promises it made to voters. Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters about this on June 10.

According to him, only the faces change in the leadership of the  opposition movements, but the agenda remains the same - revenge to  return the loot over many years. < I have just one question: has the  opposition fulfilled at least 1% of its promises? I can say with a  greater degree of confidence that we are talking about zero  indicators of these promises," Simonyan said.

The speaker expressed categorical disagreement with the prevailing  opinion that the country is falling apart. "Is your salary  increasing? Is the economic growth rate increasing? Did we have more  victims than before 2020? We have been in power since 2018, and we  have not avoided responsibility. But when they are talking about the  collapse of the state, I would like to ask: where exactly is this  happening?"noted the head of the parliament, calling for people to go  to Saryan Street, where you can see a large number of tourists,"  emphasized the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia.

He once again justified the actions of the police against  participants in the protest movement. According to the speaker, law  enforcement officers faced unprecedented cases of provocations,  showing patience and composure. Even when the leader of the "Tavush  for Peace" movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, not being a member  of the National Assembly and being a citizen of Canada, goes all out  on the police, law enforcement officers show restraint.

Simonyan once again noted that in the past it was impossible to form  power through legal means, when bribes were distributed and the  elections themselves were falsified. Currently, elections in the  country are conducted transparently and fairly, as evidenced by  assessments by international structures. Democratic values have  become the main guarantee of Armenia's success, and today the country  is in a more advanced position than many EU candidate states.

Simonyan noted that the opposition can and probably should hold  protest rallies, which is quite understandable and normal, but the  main judge is the people. <Neither the Catholicos, nor Bagrat  Galstanyan, nor the oligarchs, nor the members of the ARF  <Dashnaktsutyun>, namely the people of the Republic of Armenia. If  the people have something to tell us, we are in constant contact with  them. If they are dissatisfied with us, then in two years they will  vote for the force they prefer," said the Speaker of the National  Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
