"Decisions you make will actually determine Armenia`s future": Greek  PM to Pashinyan

ArmInfo. Athens stands for the development of defense cooperation with Yerevan, Prime Minister of   the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on February 27 at a joint briefing with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan.

The Greek Prime Minister recalled that back in December 2023, both  countries signed an agreement on military-technical cooperation. The  document, which was signed in Athens by the defense ministers of the  two countries, Suren Papikyan and Nikolaos Dendias, includes  military-technical areas, exchange of experience, educational,  training, tactical training and other areas.

In addition, the prime ministers of Armenia and Greece discussed ways  to strengthen trade and economic cooperation. In particular, the  interlocutors touched upon bilateral cooperation in the field of  renewable energy and modern technologies. In this context, a  Memorandum between Enterprise Greece and Enterprise Armenia was  signed.

As the Greek Prime Minister indicated, the development of the  situation in the region was also discussed.  "Both countries share a  common approach and oppose the use or threat of force. We are on the  side of international law and guarding the protection of territorial  integrity and respect for the sovereignty of countries," Mr.  Mitsotakis said.

According to him, Athens believes that all disagreements must be  resolved exclusively peacefully, and starting from 2023, Armenia,  better than anyone else, understands the price of peace. "The  decisions you make will actually determine the future of the country  for many years to come," the Greek Prime Minister noted.

PMs Pashinyan and Mitsotakis also discussed the format for making  life easier for more than 100 thousand forcibly displaced citizens of  Artsakh. "I want to assure you that Athens will always diplomatically  support Yerevan on the path to signing a peace treaty and achieving  lasting peace in the region," said the Greek Prime Minister.

According to him, Greece also supports the "Crossroads of Peace"  project promoted by the Armenian government, which will transform the  region from a theater of conflict into a trade hub, connecting the  Black Sea countries with the countries of the Persian Gulf and the  Mediterranean.  The reforms carried out in the Republic of Armenia  were also discussed, which indicates the Republic of Armenia's  commitment to European values. Greece, as a member of NATO and the  EU, is ready to contribute to the formation of a new liberal  democracy with its experience, knowledge and abilities," the head of  the Greek government concluded.
