MPG Survey: "My Step" leads, partly owing to residents of rural  communities

ArmInfo.Consulting company MPG (Marketing Professional Group) has published the results of a spring poll reflecting public attitudes towards the upcoming  parliamentary elections and announced candidates.

Referring to the results of the survey, it can be stated that the  majority of citizens still intend to take part in the upcoming  parliamentary elections in June this year. In particular, 48.3% of  respondents noted that they would definitely go to vote, 14.4% - most  likely yes, 20.2% - most likely not, 13.5% - definitely not, and 3.7%  - found it difficult to answer.

If the elections were held this Sunday, 27.2% of respondents would  vote for the "My Step" bloc, 8.1% - for the bloc headed by Robert  Kocharian, 3.7% - for the Prosperous Armenia party (PAP), 1.8% -  "Lusavor Hayastan" and the same amount for the Armenian Revolutionary  Federation "Dashnaktsutyun" (ARF), 1.1% - for the bloc headed by the  Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), 0.6% - for the party "Christian -  Democratic Revival'' and the same amount for "Sasna Tsrer". At the  same time, 0.5% would support the political initiative "National  Democratic Pole", 0.3% - for the party 5165, "Republic" and  "Citizen's Decision", 0.1% - the Communist Party of Armenia, 2.9 % of  respondents presented other options.  At the same time, 7.4% of  respondents are not ready to vote for the candidates presented, 11.8%  - refused to participate in the elections at all, 14.3% - refused to  answer and 17.3% - found it difficult to answer.

It is noteworthy that the overwhelming majority of residents of rural  communities - 34.9% - expressed their support for the ruling party  "My Step", 4.7% - for Robert Kocharian, 3.7% - PAP, 3.1% - Lusavor  Hayastan, 1.4% - ARF, 1.4% - RPA, 0.3% each - Christian Democratic  Revival, Sasna Tsrer, National Democratic Pole and Party 5165. At the  same time, 2.2% named other options, 16,3% of villagers found it  difficult to answer, 14.2% refused to answer, 10.8% would not vote at  all, and 5.4% did not support any candidate.  In the cities of  Armenia, with the exception of Yerevan, the situation is as follows:  25.8% will vote for "My Step", 7.1% - Robert Kocharyan, 4.3% - PAP,  0.9% - Lusavor Hayastan, 2.2% - ARF, 1.2% - RPA, 0.6% - , 0.3% - and , Party 5165, and 3.1% submitted their  options. In addition, 17.8% of urban residents found it difficult to  answer, 16.3% refused to answer, 10.5% did not intend to participate  in the elections, 8.9% did not support any candidacy.

In Yerevan, 22.5% of respondents are ready to vote for the ruling My  Step party, Robert Kocharian's electorate is slightly behind with a  share of 11.5%, followed by the PAP - 3.1%, Lusavor Hayastan - 1.6 %,  ARFD - 1.8%, - 1%, RPA, ,  and - 0.8% each, - 0, 5%, Party 5165 and the Communist Party of Armenia -  0.3% each, and 2.9% of respondents expressed support for other  candidates. At the same time, in the capital, 17.8% of respondents  found it difficult to answer, 13.6%- do not want to participate in  the elections, 12.5% - refused to answer, and 7.6% - are not ready to  support any of the announced candidates.  It should be noted that the  survey was conducted through telephone calls to the residents of  Armenia in the period from 23 to 27 April this year, the sample size  was 1003, the sampling error is +/- 3%.  In 2011, MPG became the  official representative in Armenia of the International Gallup  Association, one of the most prestigious and independent public  opinion research organizations in the world.
