Poll: More than half of Armenian citizens are dissatisfied with the  activities of parliament and president, the army is still in pets

ArmInfo.In Armenian society, there is a high demand for socio-economic reforms and  political stability, as well as supporting the ruling party and  government. These are the results of a new nationwide survey  conducted by the Center Insights In Survey Research of the  International Republican Institute (IRI).  

The report notes that this is the first survey conducted after the  Nagorno-Karabakh conflict of 2020. The purpose of the survey  understand the public sentiment of Armenia after the November  cease-fire.  "During the crisis, Armenians rely on their government  in ensuring the stability and socio-economic well-being of the  country. Support for the company's ruling party remains still high,  but for its conservation, the government should continue efforts to  implement the reform program and effectively bring these efforts to  the attention of citizens" , "says the IRI Regional Director for  Eurasia Stephen Nix.  So, according to the survey, the question of  further steps after the November cessation of fire, 97% of  respondents expressed the conviction that the government should focus  on internal matters, such as economics, political stability and  social issues. 

At the same time, in second place in importance, according to the  survey results, the reintegration of Artsakh residents, so 92% of  citizens agree that the government should focus on ensuring their  safe return to areas patrolled by Russian peacekeepers.  "In  addition, Armenians called political instability -12%, unemployment -  11% and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - 9% as the three main problems  that their country is facing today," experts say.  At the same time,  according to the survey, if the elections took place next Sunday, 33%  of respondents would give their votes for the ruling party, while in  second place would be "prosperous Armenia", which would give 3% of  respondents, 2% would give His votes for Robert Kocharian, RPA,  Dashnaktsutyun, 17-parties would be enlisted with support for 1% of  the votes, and another 42% - did not choose any of the above.  "And  although the Prime Minister's approval rating has decreased by 22  points since 2019, yet more than half of Armenians still approve of  its activities.  Against this background, 62% of Armenians would  believe the outcome of the extraordinary elections, if their current  power organized. At the same time, the overwhelming majority of  citizens support the improvement of the electoral system in Armenia,  74% believe in the importance of the reforms of the Electoral Code.   In particular, 73% of Armenians agree that candidates should provide  detailed information on expenses on their election campaign, and 68%  want citizens to have more opportunities to inform party lists, "the  survey is noted.

It is noteworthy that 26% of respondents will not see their future of  their family in Armenia in a four-year section. At the same time, the  Army's Armenian society is most satisfied with the activities of the  army - about 73%, the police are 63% in second place, in third place  the office of human rights advocate is 60%, in the fourth place local  government authorities - 56%, the office of the Prime Minister is  located on 5 Stitching, Eifferentity is satisfied with only 54% of  citizens, the AAC is only 6 stitching - she is satisfied with 52% of  respondents.  At the same time, 62% of citizens are not satisfied  with the work of the Parliament, 60% of the President, 43% - the  office of the Prime Minister, 53% - Cabinet, 53% - Prosecutor  General's Office, 57% - ships, The survey was conducted by Brevis  (represented by IPSC LLC) on behalf of the IRI analytical research  center from February 8 to 16, 2021. The data were collected through  telephone interviews with 1510 residents of Armenia aged 18 and  older. 

The percentage of answers was 26 percent, and the error does not  exceed 2.5 points plus. The data weighted on 11 regional groups, age,  sex and type. The study was conducted with the financial support of  the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  Note  that earlier Consulting Company MPG (Marketing Professional Group),  which is in Armenia Gallup International Association, published the  results of the next survey regarding the internal political situation  in Armenia and the imperative in the country of elections Thus, the  results of the survey showed that the activities of all political  figures of Armenia (current and former) from the public was estimated  in the range below average and on a 5-point scale of Armenian Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan scored 2.8 points, Armenian President Armen  Sargsyan - 2 , 3 points, first President Levon Ter- Petrosyan - 1.7  points, second president Robert Kocharyan - 2 points, the third  president Serge Sargsyan - 1.7 points, party leader Gagik Tsarukyan - 2.2 points, faction leader Edmond Maugian - 1.8 points, party leader -  Arthur Vanetsyan 1.5 points, leader of the movement of the Motherland  Vasgen Manukyan and the head of the ArfD Ishkhan Sagatela - 1.6  points.  It is noteworthy that 37.1% of respondents adhere to the  opinions that extraordinary parliamentary elections must be held in  Armenia, 21.3% - They believe that rather, yes, there is no, 13.6% -  rather no than yes, and at all do not see the need for 19.7%.  At the  same time, the majority of respondents (41.2%) believe that the  elections should be held under the leadership of Nikola Pashinyan,  28.2% - adhere to the opposition, 7.9% - from the interim government  proposed by the opposition, 13.9% - found it difficult to Answer, and  8.9% - offered other options.  If in the near future, extraordinary  parliamentary elections will be held - 33.1% of respondents will give  their votes for , 4.4% - for , 2.6% for  , 2.2% - For RPA, 2.2% - ARFD, 0.9% -  , 0.7% - , 0.4% - et al.  For  Robert Kocharian, 5.6% of respondents are ready to give his voices,  for Vazgen Manukyan - 0.9%. At the same time, 27.2% do not want to  give their votes, and 15.7% - found it difficult to answer. In  general, it turns out that about 40% of respondents do not know who  to give their vote.
