President of Kazakhstan: Government has been instructed to develop  measures to streamline the operation of cars imported from Armenia,  taking into account the interests of Kazakhstan owners

ArmInfo.The problem of registration of vehicles imported from the EAEU countries is still relevant. The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart  Tokayev, stated this in an interview to informburo.kz.

He stated that many people imported in one way or another a large  number of cars from neighboring countries.  "On my instructions, the  Prosecutor General's Office gave a legal assessment of this  situation. There are complaints about the activities of some state  structures.

In addition, individuals, deliberately violating the law and  deceiving people, developed an illegal business on this.  Investigation is underway regarding fraudulent activities when  importing cars from Armenia, "the President of Kazakhstan said.  At  the same time, he emphasized that there are questions regarding  cooperation with some partners in the EAEU. "We are working with them  to eliminate the possibility of a recurrence of such problems in the  future.

The government was instructed to develop additional organizational  measures to streamline the operation of vehicles imported from  Armenia, taking into account the interests of Kazakhstani owners,  "concluded the head of Kazakhstan.

To recall, the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at an  expanded government meeting on January 24, noted that the country has  a problem with cars imported from the countries of the Eurasian  Economic Union that are not timely registered. The President of the  Republic of Kazakhstan instructed the Prosecutor General to give a  legal assessment of the current situation. To resolve this problem,  the Government should, within a month on a one-off basis, provide for  temporary registration of cars imported as of February 1, 2020 by  citizens of Kazakhstan from the EAEU countries for personal use.  The  President explained that registration for these cars will be valid  until March 1, 2021. Until March 1, 2021, car owners must pay customs  duties and utilization fees with the car permanently registered,  either take it out of the country or take other measures not  prohibited by law. In conclusion, the Head of State instructed the  Government to stop the illegal import of cars from other countries.
