Minister: environmental and climate change programs are a significant  part of  Armenia - European Union relations. 

ArmInfo. In Armenia-European Union relations, a significant component is  environmental and climate change programs. This was announced on  February 26 at the hearings in the Parliament of the Republic of  Armenia on the implementation of the comprehensive and expanded  partnership agreement (CEPA) with the EU, Minister of the Environment  Eric Grigoryan stated. 

According to him, Armenia is guided by over  10 EU directives. According to the roadmap for the implementation of  CEPA, it is planned to carry out more than 100 actions, 80 of which  are implemented by the Ministry of the Environment. According to  preliminary data, about 60 million euros will be provided for their  implementation by the EU. Part of the work is already underway,  including a review of water management policies. For 2020, the  minister continued, it is planned to carry out 25 actions, the vast  majority of which (over 10) relate to environmental impact  assessment. A package of these actions is already ready and will be  submitted for approval to the RA government in the near future.

In addition, as noted by Eric Grigoryan, Armenia is a party to 20  international conventions, 8 of which are European conventions,  within the framework of which active cooperation with the countries  of the European Union is also developing.

Recall that the CEPA was signed in Brussels on November 24, 2017, and  ratified by the RA National Assembly on April 11, 2018. Armenia  became the first EAEU member country to sign such an agreement with  the European Union. Currently, 24 out of 28 EU countries have  ratified the document.
