Armenian President will not participate in events to be held in  Poland dedicated to the beginning of World War II 

ArmInfo. An invitation was sent to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian to participate in the events marking the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Poland. This was reported to the ArmInfo correspondent in the Office  of Public Relations and Media of the Presidential Administration.

"President Sarkissian received an invitation to participate in the  anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Poland, but his  participation is not planned," ArmInfo was told.

Yesterday ArmInfo reported that the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol  Pashinyan will not take part in the celebrations that will be held in  Warsaw on September 1. "The Prime Minister did not receive an  invitation to participate in events dedicated to the outbreak of  World War II in Poland," spokesman for the head of government  Vladimir Karapetyan told ArmInfo.

To note, as early as March 19 this year according to UNIAN, the  Spokesman of the President of Poland Blazej Spychalski, said that  only members of the European Union, NATO and the Eastern Partnership  states - Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia  should be invited to the solemn events to be held in Warsaw on  September 1, without Russia, he specified. In July 2019, the press  service of Polish President Andrzej Duda issued a statement stating  that Poland intends to commemorate the dramatic events occured 80  years ago with countries with which it closely cooperates "in the  interest of world peace."

US President Donald Trump and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel  are expected to arrive in Poland this year. The participation of the  official delegation of Ukraine, which also received invitations from  Andrzej Duda, was also confirmed by the office of President Volodymyr  Zelensky. Meanwhile, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will  not take part in these events. According to the Polish publication  "Rzeczpospolita", Lukashenko refused to visit Poland because the  Polish authorities did not invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to  events in Warsaw.
