Lawyer: The decision on the preventive measure of Manvel Grigoryan  will be made public today

ArmInfo.The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan retired to the deliberation room to decide on the request of the preliminary investigation body to extend the  fourth time the term of detention of the MP of the National Assembly,  General Manvel Grigoryan. The decision, according to Grigoryan's  attorney Arsen Mkrtchyan, will be made public today.

According to the lawyer, General Grigoryan still does not admit his  guilt. At the same time, the lawyer considered it possible that the  judge Marina Melkonyan was under pressure. "The detention of Manvel  Grigorian is a kind of demonstration of cruelty," he said.

Arsen Mkrtchyan reminded that the defense party still insists on  changing the preventive measure in the form of a pledge in the amount  of 20 million drams. As the lawyer stressed, despite the fact that  his accounts and the accounts of his family are under arrest, he will  be able to pay bail. "Manvel Grigoryan is a hero of the war of  liberation, and, having passed this way, he acquired not only  enemies, but also friends who are ready to make a modest contribution  to this cause," he said.  To note, today, during the consideration of  the submitted petition in court, Manvel Grigoryan's health worsened,  an ambulance was called, he was given medical assistance and then the  court session continued.

To recall, on June 16, an MP of the Armenian parliament from the RPA,  General Manvel Grigoryan, was detained by the National Security  Service of Armenia. During searches, SNB operatives discovered and  seized a large number of weapons and ammunition. In addition, a large  arsenal of unregistered weapons, including mortars and rations for  soldiers assembled by schoolchildren, was discovered in the mansion  and in the dacha of the general. On June 19, the Yerevan Court of  First Instance made a decision on the application of a measure of  restraint in the form of arrest for Grigorian for a period of 2  months. After the arrest of Grigorian was twice extended. On August  22, he was hospitalized in the hospital due to deteriorating health.  According to Grigorian's defense, her client has been diagnosed with  more than 16 diseases, including diabetes and cancer.
