Chief tax official of the country did not rule out checking business  of Robert Kocharyan

ArmInfo.The State Revenue Committee of Armenia has a specific tax administration toolkit applicable to taxpayers, among them may be companies owned by the  second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian. On November 7, David  Ananyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, told  reporters on the margins of the fourth regional meeting of the four-  day regional meeting in Yerevan that was devoted to a system of  preventing erosion of the tax / tax base and withdrawal of income /  profits from taxation (BEPS) in Eastern Europe and Central Asia  (EECA).

According to the head of department, at this stage he will refrain  from providing any information obtained during the checks. "At the  moment, I can not disclose information about these inspections,  because by doing so I will harm the activities carried out," he said.

At the same time, as the Chief Tax Officer of Armenia stressed, the  CGD provides a criminal legal assessment of the behavior of  taxpayers, rather than specific officials - the former, current - to  detect offshore funds from the point of view of identifying possible  risks to the tax revenues of the republic.

As for the former head of the CGD Armen Avetisyan, who is accused of  money laundering, then, according to David Ananyan, in his department  today there are no events or studies conducted by companies owned by  Avetisyan or affiliated with them.

Recall that on October 11, the National Security Service (NSS)  distributed a video report that the Investigation Department of the  Office initiated a criminal case against the former head of the RA  State Customs Service Committee Armen Avetisyan about illegal  participation in business activities and money laundering on a large  scale acquired by criminal means ( money laundering) on the grounds  of Art. 310 and 1, part 3, art. 190th RA Criminal Code. According to  the press service of the National Security Service, according to  preliminary data obtained as a result of operative-investigative and  investigative measures taken, Armen Avetisyan, in 2011, being the  chairman of the State Committee of the Customs Service, undertook and  financed, mainly in cash, the construction of the Golden Palace hotel  complex on Azatutyun Avenue. In order to hide his and the  participation of other persons, he attributed the construction of  this object to LLC Riverhil Holding, which was founded in the Cyprus  offshore.

But  those conversations and the real picture are very, very far from each  other, "Kocharian said.
