Investigative Committee studies the case of a large-scale extortion  by  high-ranking official of the Transport Ministry and Police  officer

ArmInfo.The Investigation Committee of Armenia is investigating a criminal case on extortion in large scale by a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Transport,  Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia and an  investigation officer of the General Directorate on Combating  Organized Crime of the RA Police.

As reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the RA Investigative  Committee, on October 2 of the current year materials were sent to  the Police based on a statement addressed to the Prime Minister of  Armenia by the citizen of the Russian Federation and his  representative in Armenia that in 2014, under the threat of violence,  he was forced to stop using the company's gas station.

"During the preparation of the materials, it turned out that the  owner of RVGAZ-1 LLC intended to sell the station to a resident of  the Tandzut community of Armavir region for $ 300 thousand, with a  partial payment of the amount. The latter, having paid $ 70 thousand,  did not fulfill the remaining obligations.  According to the signed  agreement, the real estate and movable property of the gas station  LLC RVGaz-1 were to be invested in the authorized capital of LLC SLL  Gaz, established by the buyer, while the owner of the gas station LLC  RVGaz-1 continued to remain the owner of 50% of the shares until full  implementation of the contract. However, it turned out that the gas  station LLC RVGaz-1 was 100% included in LLC SLL Gas, and its  previous owner lost 50% of the shares, "the statement reads.

The source reports that a citizen of the Russian Federation, having  learned from a resident of Tanzut about the above, arrived in Armenia  and met with the head of the above-mentioned department of the  Ministry, the latter said that he had taken the station from the  buyer, and now he should handle everything directly with him.  "A few  days later, the aforementioned official, together with a police  officer in the Azatamartik's  Park of the Erebuni administrative  district, threatened the owner to withdraw from owning the station  for $ 30,000, and the next day handed over to the citizen of the  Russian Federation for $ 40,000. On October 15 of the current year a  criminal case on the grounds of article 182, part 3, paragraph 2 of  the RA Criminal Code was opened, " the Investigative Committee  reported.  The Committee also reported that during the investigative  activities it also became clear that the above- mentioned police  officer, along with his friend, in the spring of 2014, threatened  with a pistol, forced a resident of the Tanzut community to abandon  his part of the gas station. As a result, the station since May 2014  passed to the above-mentioned officials, who continued to operate it  and receive income.  In accordance with the legislation of Armenia,  this case was sent on October 27 to the Special Investigation  Service.
