The head of the National Security Council: The investigation will  find out the legality of the property acquired by the former mayor of  Yerevan

ArmInfo. In relation to the ex-mayor of Yerevan, Taron Margaryan, another criminal case has been initiated in connection with the previously published video on the  property belonging to him. The director of the National Security  Service (NSS) of Armenia, Artur Vanetsian, told journalists this  October 16.

According to Vanetsyan, earlier Taron Margaryan was interrogated in  the framework of the criminal case on abuses in the "Yerevan"  Foundation and admitted that there were certain omissions in the  activities of the Foundation. At the same time, the director of the  fund <Yerevan> pledged to compensate the amount of 1 billion 810  million drams. The sum of one billion has already been paid, the  remaining 810 million drams will be returned to the state in the near  future.

After paying the full amount, Taron Margaryan will be discharged. The  head of the National Security Service recalled that from the first  day of his appointment he stated that he was not inclined to "put  people on the line" and "fill the prisons". "If a person has made  financial abuses and is ready to return the money, then I think it  will be more effective if they are returned to the state budget," the  head of the National Security Council said.  As for the new criminal  case against the ex-head of the metropolitan administration, then,  according to the head of the National Security Service, the  investigation of the property acquired by him continues. "If it is  justified that it was acquired illegally, you can be sure that this  will take a turn," he said.  In June of this year.
