Canada considers possibility of opening an embassy in Armenia and  facilitating air traffic between countries

ArmInfo.Canada is considering the possibility of opening an embassy in Armenia and  facilitating air communication between the countries. This was  announced by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau today at a press  conference in Yerevan during his official visit to Armenia, who, by  the way, came to the event in socks with the color of the Armenian  tricolor, specially tailored for him at one of the domestic textile  enterprises.

Trudeau noted that the issue of opening the Canadian embassy in the  Armenia will be actualized as contacts between societies and business  circles of the two countries increase. "We also considered the  possibility of facilitating the air communication and signing the  relevant agreement, in this context the governments of the two  countries will cooperate with each other," said Trudeau, assuring  that he would contribute to the flow of Canadian investments into the  Armenian economy, especially since this has a corresponding  potential. The Canadian Prime Minister considered particularly  promising cooperation in the field of water resources.

For his part, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that  during a meeting with his Canadian counterpart, he asked him to  correctly convey the essence of the changes taking place in Armenia  to businessmen from Canada. "Because the fight against corruption  often affects foreign companies, and we don't want international  investors to get the impression that our actions are directed against  them. On the contrary, we are doing all this to establish the rule of  law in the country, transparency and equal competitive conditions so  that a foreign investor in the Armenian market would henceforth feel  more comfortable. We are now trying to eliminate past mistakes made  in the implementation of various business projects, whether  environmental or otherwise, in order no longer to allow them,  "Pashinyan assured.
