Kocharian made a pessimistic forecast concerning the consequences of  the policy of the current Armenian authorities

The second  president of Armenia Robert Kocharian is not surprised by the  statement of the Prime Minister of RA Nikol Pashinyan that he assumes  political responsibility for all the arrests that will have a  political sound. Armenian second president Robert Kocharian stated in  an interview to Yerevan Today.

"We are a member of the Council of Europe, and this can not but have  consequences for Armenia, a statement that even dictators do not act  in such a direct form." The prime minister takes responsibility for  the detention, which he, according to the Constitution, does not has  the right to violate the Constitution in a brutal way, but also a  whole series of laws, which is the failure of the constitutional  order, I understand that there are people who are too enthusiastic  during the rallies and can say anything but a statesman in first oche  should be such that his language does not run ahead of the thought,  because the consequences for the country can be just tragic, and, by  the way, the issue of democracy in Armenia is already planned to be  discussed at the Council of Europe and the PACE Monitoring Group,  "Kocharian said. Concerning the recording of the telephone  conversation of the heads of the National Security Service and the  SSS, Kocharian stated that he is evidence of pressure on the court.  "All our statements that the case is political, that it is political  persecution, that it has nothing to do with the disclosure of the  events of March 1, 2008, and pursues the sole purpose of arresting  me, was confirmed." In any state, not only in countries with a  developed democracy, after such a scandal, these people had to  resign, ask the society for their deed, for their crime, and ask for  forgiveness from me, but we have a different picture. "They went on  the offensive and began to speculate again on March 1" , -  Kocharyan  stated.

According to him, the whole process is directed by the Prime  Minister. "This is not an initiative of the director of the National  Security Service, he is just a performer, but he performs with  enthusiasm and pleasure, therefore I say that there was a tyrant in  Armenia, this was the essence of the revolution," Kocharian said.   The remark that the Prime Minister and his team affirm that, if the  political persecution, the court would not have let him go, Kocharyan  replied: "Today I am free for one reason, because the judge of the  Court of Appeal who considered my case is known as incorruptible and  a principled man, by the way, in this atmosphere, under such  pressure, the judge must have the inner strength to withstand all  this. " Referring to the situation in the country, he described it as  Bolshevism. "I am convinced that the thinking part of our people,  analyzing, is very well aware of what is happening in Armenia today,  and what threats may emerge from such policies, similar approaches,"  Robert Kocharian stated.

According to him, the most dangerous thing is that quite broad masses  are drawn into illegal actions. As an example, the second president  cited criminal cases involving numerous investigators and civil  servants. The ex-president advised these people not to fall under the  temptation of the situation, because after some time they will have  to answer. "I think that in the not so distant, and even rather soon,  they will have to keep an answer," Kocharian said. The ex-president  noted that it is therefore necessary to adhere to the laws, not to  carry out illegal assignments, which for some time will have to be  answered by law.

"This is very important, since the leaders will move aside, they will  say that they have nothing to do with it, because according to the  law they will really have nothing to do with it," he said.
