The SIS initiated a criminal investigation into the theft of large  amounts of money by police officers

ArmInfo. During the check-ups in the  Armenian police, conducted by the employees of the Special  Investigation Service, a criminal case was instituted in accordance  with Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code (appropriation of large  amounts by police officers).

As reported by the press service of the SIS, the investigation  materials have data that the accountant of the Ijevan department of  protection of the Main Directorate of the State Security of the  Police of Armenia L.A.  in the period from January 1, 2016 to May  2018 attributed himself, the heads of departments and other employees  of the amount that significantly exceeded the monthly salary of the  latter. As a result, employees received 38.493.618 drams more.

In addition, L.A. from May to August 2018, acting as an accountant at  the Dilijan branch of the main police department of the State Police,  also attributed an amount exceeding the monthly salary. In general,  this amount amounted to 4.522.448 drams.

During the preliminary investigation LA. admitted that in the Dilijan  department he did everything on behalf of the head of the department  and all the cashed sums of LA. also passed on to his management.

All assigned amount was restored.
