The sides discussed issues of military-technical cooperation, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction at the results of the joint activities in the military and military-technical spheres, and also stressed the importance of developing cooperation in these areas.
The sides positively assessed the adoption of military products of various purposes for the armament of the Azerbaijani army, which is provided for all types and types of troops, which is produced by enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Belarus. A wide range of issues of military-technical cooperation was also considered and directions for the implementation of new large projects aimed at increasing the fighting capacity of the Azerbaijani army were determined.
Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus has begun to develop significantly since 2004. Belarus supplied T-72 tanks, self-propelled artillery systems 2S7 Pion 203 mm caliber, BTR-70, 152 mm D-20 howitzers, Su-25 attack aircraft, two Buk MB anti-tank missile systems, anti-tank missile systems " Skif "of the Ukrainian-Belarusian production (Peleng OJSC supplies the guidance system), multiple rocket launcher systems (MLRS)" Polonaise ".
Meanwhile, the new Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, following a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Sochi on the margins of the summit of the Supreme Economic Council of the Eurasian Economic Union, said that he discussed with the head of Belarus the supplies of Minsk weapons to Baku. According to Pashinyan, he expressed Armenia's position on this issue, which in general, in his opinion, found understanding of the Belarusian leader. In general, he assessed the meeting with Lukashenka as constructive.
