10 public organizations of Armenia suspect  the legitimacy of the 4th  president Armen Sargsyan

ArmInfo.The fourth president of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, was elected to this post in violation of the norms of the Constitution, namely the qualification for compulsory residence on the territory of the republic for 6 years and the availability of RA citizenship during the same time. "The fact that Armen Sargsyan has not bothered to present his  statement to the British authorities about the renunciation of the  citizenship of the United Kingdom, calls into question the existence  of such a document in general, and as a consequence, the legitimacy  of the 4th president. 

This is also a manifestation of extreme disrespect for the people and  ignoring the Constitution of the country, "the statement said.

However, its authors consider the current situation to be to some  extent logical given the fact that in 2008 Serge Sargsyan came to  power for the first time "at the cost of 10 people's lives", for the  second time - "through total falsification of the elections." "And in  2015, to preserve the power of the Republican Party, he initiated a  constitutional referendum on the transition of the republic to a  parliamentary form of government, the results of which were also  falsified, and it's no wonder that the RPA presidential candidate  must also be guided by the methods of the ruling party and its  leader, namely from the first days of coming to power to violate the  norms of the Constitution and ignore the opinion of the people, "the  authors of the document summarize.

The statement was signed by Transparency International, Asparez  Journalist Club, Association of Informed Citizens, Open Society  Foundations, In the Name of Equal Rights, Women's Resource Center,  Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Association, Analytical Center for  Globalization and Regional Cooperation, Public Journalism Club and  the Law and Freedom Center.

It should be noted that Armen Sargsyan repeatedly demanded that  opposition MPs submit a statement on the renunciation of British  citizenship in order to dispel doubts about the constitutionality of  his nomination for the presidency of the country. However, each time  Sarkisian confined himself to verbal assurances that he renounced the  citizenship of Great Britain in 2011, while refusing to submit a  corresponding document.

Meanwhile, the Constitution of Armenia requires that the presidential  candidate be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia for the last 6  years and during the same time he continuously lived on the territory  of the republic.
