Alexander Manasyan: Azerbaijan runs to provocations only in case it  does not care about the West and Russia

As a proof of a favorable geopolitical situation for Armenia, the  expert cited the forthcoming signing of the Agreement on Enhanced and  Comprehensive Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the EU.   "This is proof that the EU regards Armenia as a part of Europe and  regards it as a country that corresponds to European values and  standards, Europe wants to deepen and develop its relations with  Armenia, it is obvious that as for Azerbaijan, the situation is  completely opposite," said Manasyan. The political scientist noted  that for the last 3 years, Europe has finally realized who it is  dealing with. "The recent scandals connected with the violation of  human rights, as well as the so-called" Azerbaijan Landmass "clearly  showed that it is impossible to tolerate Azerbaijan in the Council of  Europe," Manasyan said.

Manasyan noted that Europe is stuffing educational work towards  Azerbaijan, the same as periodically carried out against Turkey.  "Turkey and Azerbaijan are gradually becoming identical countries,  and the world, in the person of Europe, is trying to change them,"  the expert said. In addition to the EU, the same trend in deepening  relations with Armenia, according to Manasyan, is seen in the United  States. "When the CSTO exercises were held in Armenia, the American  general said that the US will deepen its cooperation with the  Armenian Armed Forces and the Russian base in this matter is not a  hindrance," the political scientist said, adding that China is also  showing great interest in Armenia. All this, according to Manasyan,  shows that a suitable historical moment has come for Armenia to  become a link between the West and the East.

What about possibilities of  renewal of military actions, according  to the expert, it can happen only in case Baku absolutely does not  care about West and Russia, which is unlikely.
