ArmInfo.Over a thousand fans of Russian rock music gathered in Tsaghkadzor for the EPIC Rock Fest festival, which was held August 12-13 in the open air. The most popular rock musicians of Armenia participated in the festival, including Gore Sujyan, EMPIRAY, Vostan Hayots, Dogma, Mad Paradox, Nemra, Fairwind, The Windrose.
Initially, the fest was only for EPIC Summer School students, and after a meeting with the president of the Armenian Rock Music Association Vardan Grigoryan, we decided not to limit ourselves to the participants of our summer school, but to organize the Open-Air festival, gathering a wider range of rock music lovers. Moreover, the idea to hold an event in Armenia related to high-quality music has been in the head for a long time, "Gevorg Avetisyan, the organizer of the festival, the coordinator of the EPIC project, told ArmInfo.
The festival, he said, will be held annually with the participation of foreign guests, both as spectators and as musicians. The fact that the organizers limited themselves to inviting only domestic musicians, G. Avetisyan explained with high fees, requested by international musicians. However, in the opinion of the co-organizer, next year the festival will expand the geography of rock bands and guests in view of the number of participants in the "epic" rock festival.
"It is no secret that mainly tourists over 60 years old are from developed countries. And we want to attract foreign youth to Armenia through such initiatives," G. Avetisyan stressed. Spent funds, he said, are a unique contribution to the future, as the festival will be of a lasting nature. Meanwhile, one of the organizers told ArmInfo correspondent that on the first day of the rock festival, beer worth over 1 million AMD was drunk.
EpicRockFest festival was implemented at the initiative of the travel company Armenia Travel and LLC EPIC. The general sponsor was the telecommunication company Rostelecom Armenia. Information support was provided by Radio and Radio , live broadcast was provided by HD Studio. The festival was held with the assistance of the Rock Association of Armenia and the State Committee for the Development of Tourism of Armenia.
