Vahe Enfiajyan does not rule out possibility of impeaching Vanadzor  Mayor Mamikon Aslanyan   

ArmInfo.Prosperous Armenia Party Faction member Vahe Enfiajyan thinks that the Elders' Council of Vanadzor may impeach Vanadzor Mayor Mamikon Aslanyan.

"I cannot say for sure whether this will be done or not, but the  opposition members of the Elders' Council are cooperating and may  come to consensus," he said, noting that the opposition members of  the Elders' Council will boycott the sittings of the Council.      

Meanwhile, Gagik Melikyan, Secretary of the ruling Republican Party  of Armenia (RPA) Faction, is not sure that only 4 representatives of  the "Vanadzor coalition" gave their votes in Mamikon Aslanyan's  favor.  "Probably, there were 6, 7 and even more votes," he said,  meaning that the Republicans, in turn, might have voted for  Aslanyan's competitor Krist Marukyan. He also thinks that the  representatives of the opposition consensus may support the RPA at  the sittings of the Elders' Council. "The boycott cannot last  forever," he said. 

To note, though the opposition forces had united, the candidate from  the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Mamikon Aslanyan won the  mayoral elections in Vanadzor by obtaining 19 votes. The RPA and the  ARFD had only 15 mandates. This means that 4 representatives of the  opposition voted for the RPA candidate despite the arrangement to  support the Bright Armenia candidate Krist Marukyan. Edmon Marukyan,  the leader of Bright Armenia, leaked information that all the four  members of the Elders' Council who supported the Republican candidate  are members of Armenian Rebirth Party. He said that Arkady Peleshyan,  the candidate No.1 on the Armenian Rebirth Party List persuaded its  fellows to vote for the Republican candidate. Arkady Peleshyan is  charged with attacking Rafael Grigoryan, the Primate of the Vanadzor  Diocese of the Armenian Evangelical Church. Marukyan believes that  the authorities promised to cancel the criminal case against  Peleshyan if the latter supports their candidate and persuades others  to do the same. Bright Armenia Party has decided to boycott the  sessions of the Vanadzor Elders' Council.
