Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Advocates the Full and Effective Involvement of Women in Peace and Security Processes

Arminfo.  The importance of the full and effective involvement of women in peace and security processes was emphasized by Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan during his speech at the regional “Europe-Eurasia” summit on “Women, Peace and Security.” The event was organized by the International Republican Institute’s “Women’s Democracy Network.”

According to the press service of Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, he noted that expanding women’s participation contributes to strengthening institutional resilience and creating more inclusive and sustainable mechanisms for peacebuilding and institutionalization.

During his speech, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister also touched upon current changes in the regional security architecture and Armenia’s vision regarding the effective implementation of the opportunities emerging with the establishment of peace.

Kostanyan emphasized the work being carried out by Armenia to advance the peace agenda, ensure stability and predictability in the region, as well as develop and/or normalize relations with its neighbors.

The need for inclusive and institutional approaches to ensure regional stability and long-term peace was also discussed.
