ArmInfo. After yesterday's heated debate in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the country's parliament resumed its work as usual on August 14. The plenary session is discussing the candidates for the chairmen of the standing committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Let us recall that the day before, the first serious incident in the parliament of the 9th convocation occurred in the National Assembly, caused by the speech of Edgar Ghazaryan, an MP from the opposition Strong Armenia faction, who called the MPs from the ruling Civil Contract faction "scum." During today's session, Edgar Ghazaryan changed his seat in the National Assembly hall. It is not yet known whether this is the first step towards his removal from the faction or not. At least, the day before, the head of Strong Armenia Narek Karapetyan assured the National Assembly that Edgar Ghazaryan's behavior would be discussed at the faction meeting.
It should be noted that the day before, after Ghazaryan's speech, the situation in the National Assembly escalated and spilled into the hallway of the National Assembly, where opposition and government representatives clashed. In his speech, Ghazaryan accused the Civil Contract deputies of holding on to power and achieving personal prosperity at the expense of war and sacrifice.
