Samvel Karapetyan: I have done charity, I do it and will do it 

ArmInfo.Leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc and businessman Samvel Karapetyan has commented on a statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding intentions to deprive their political force of the opportunity to engage in charitable activities. 

On August 4, speaking to journalists ahead of another court hearing,  the politician stated that this will not prevent him from continuing  his charitable endeavors. "I have done charity, I do it and will do  it, because I do this for Armenia, for the Armenian people, and for  all Armenians. And no one can deprive me of this desire," Karapetyan  stated.

He also addressed assertions suggesting that their political force  intends to provide support primarily to the regions where they  received the most votes in Armenia's recent parliamentary elections.  He clarified that the message was not that assistance would be  provided exclusively in those areas. "This assistance will be  ongoing. But first and foremost, we will provide it in the regions  where our force received the most votes and where people showed us  their trust," the politician clarified. 

Regarding the situation surrounding enterprises owned by opposition  leaders, he noted that this reflects a desire to "own at least  something." "These are simply people who want to manage something in  this life.  Well, let them manage. Let's see what they do with the  cement plant, the cognac factory, and Electric Networks of Armenia  CJSC," the bloc leader concluded. 

It's worth noting that during a press-briefing on July 30, Pashinyan  described the charitable projects of the "Strong Armenia" bloc as  "oligarchic charity" and a "trap," stating that steps must be taken  to ensure they can no longer do so.
