"Wings of Unity" condemns Pashinyan`s political directive against  party ally

ArmInfo. The "Wings of Unity" party has strongly condemned public accusations made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan against party member Liparit  Drmeyan, alongside an explicit political directive issued to law  enforcement agencies.

In a statement published on its Facebook page, the party  characterized the remarks as yet another public political order from  the head of government, designed to instigate criminal prosecution  against a specific individual.

"What is especially dangerous is that Pashinyan directly linked his  allegations to Drmeyan's inclusion in the 'Wings of Unity' electoral  list and his opposition political activities. By doing so, the head  of government made it unambiguously clear that an individual's  political choices can serve as grounds for applying the 'law  enforcement baton' against them," the political force emphasized.

The "Wings of Unity" party recalled that in a state governed by the  rule of law, drafting a document that contradicts the government's  position, refusing to record a conclusion desired by the prime  minister, or presenting an alternative professional viewpoint does  not constitute a crime. At the same time, the party noted that public  servants are obligated to follow the law and serve the state, rather  than the political will of any individual official.

 "It comes as no surprise that the General Prosecutor's Office  reacted almost instantly to Pashinyan's statement. Such swiftness  gives rise to the well-founded assumption that this action was  pre-planned and coordinated, which only reinforces the suspicion that  we are dealing not with an independent investigation, but with the  execution of a political order. Pashinyan's behavior is yet another  manifestation of the dismantling of state institutions, the  instrumentalization of law enforcement agencies for political  purposes, and a policy of reprisal against opponents. It is also a  direct signal to all professionals within the state system: a  professional stance that fails to align with the will of the head of  government may subsequently be framed as a crime," the party stated.

In light of the above, the party demanded that the General  Prosecutor's Office and all law enforcement agencies act strictly  within the framework of the law, refrain from executing political  instructions, and publicly disclose the specific factual and legal  grounds upon which the review of Pashinyan's statement was initiated.  Furthermore, the party demanded that all of Drmeyan's rights be  protected, any unlawful pressure—whether covert or public—be  excluded, and that the head of government's statements be prevented  from influencing the course of the proceedings.

"Pashinyan bears political and personal responsibility for this  public order for reprisal, the violation of the presumption of  innocence, and the issuance of directives to law enforcement  agencies. We declare that any actions taken against Drmeyan will be  viewed within the context of Pashinyan's public accusations and  political directive. The party will utilize all domestic and  international legal and political mechanisms to protect Drmeyan's  rights and prevent any attempts at political persecution," the party  concluded," the party concluded.
