The Zangezur Corridor, which will become another branch of the East- West Corridor, will definitely be built, as stated by President Ilham Aliyev today, during the opening ceremony of the 31st Baku Energy Forum, the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, and the 14th Caspian International Clean Energy Exhibition as part of the Baku Energy Week.
According to Baku media, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is opening new transport corridors by investing in rail and road infrastructure. "The Zangezur Corridor, which will become another branch of the East-West Corridor, will definitely be built in accordance with the document signed on August 8, 2025, at the White House between the President of the United States, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and myself," Aliyev said.
It should be noted that Baku Energy Week kicked off today in the Azerbaijani capital. It is considered the most important energy forum in the Caspian region. It will host the 31st Baku Energy Forum, the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition, and the 14th Caspian International Clean Energy Exhibition.
The Baku Energy Week, which runs until June 3, will focus on topics such as "The Future of Energy at the Crossroads of Development Paths. Renewing Green Energy," "New Benchmarks for Oil and Gas in the New Energy Era," and "Oil and Gas Technologies and Artificial Intelligence." In addition, the energy sector in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as the Trans-Caspian Energy Corridor, will be at the center of discussions.
During the Baku Energy Week, new memorandums on the development of the Trans-Caspian Energy Corridor are expected to be signed, alongside agreements on solar and wind energy projects and the establishment of a Central Asian Energy Transition Investment Forum. The event is hosting more than 270 companies from 46 countries, including Russia.
