ArmInfo. Armenia's second president and the prime ministerial candidate for the "Armenia" alliance, Robert Kocharyan, has raised concerns that following the fall of Artsakh and the degradation of the military, the Syunik region will become the next target of the current authorities. He made these remarks during an election campaign rally for the "Armenia" alliance in Kapan, the regional capital of Syunik.
He recalled that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who declared that he was starting negotiations on Artsakh from scratch, brought up the war. Today, the latter claims he is building the army from the ground up. "Syunik will be the next objective, and we must halt this process," the alliance leader declared.
To achieve this, Kocharyan urged the residents of Kapan to cast their ballots for the "Armenia" alliance in the upcoming June 7 elections. "Rest assured, we are capable of accomplishing this, but you must grant us this mandate and authorize us. Leave the rest to us. We will keep our word. We are a team that knows exactly what it wants and how to achieve it," Kocharyan stated, adding that anyone who votes for Pashinyan is effectively casting a vote for Aliyev.
